1 PicADay Project: Day 316

“Give us dew to favor Your land, grant us a blessing of Your joy. Make us strong with plentiful grain and wine. Restore Jerusalem, Your delight, as flowers are renewed by dew. Let this be a good year for dew, crowned with proud and beautiful fruit. May the city of Jerusalem, once empty, be turned into a crown that sparkles like the dew.”

(excerpt from the Jewish Prayer for Dew from Heaven- prayed at the end of Passover for the dry season)

1 PicADay Project: Day 315

Today i have a guest iPhone photographer. My husband is out near Denver Colorado on a farm with the only computer we have. I didn’t know exactly what I was going to do for my blog photo today until he sent me this beautiful photo he took with his iPhone about an hour ago. OMG, I wish I had taken this. It’s beautiful!
All I did was put a very small amount of “charmed glow” on it in CinemaFX app for iPhone.

1 PicADay Project: Day 260

Two Unprecidented Days in Nashville TN May 1 & 2, 2010

I’ve posted an iPhone photo of my front lawn but this is NOTHING compared to what other people are going through right now in the metro area surrounding Nashville TN! Here’s a few highlights:

650 water rescues

8 confirmed dead

All three interstates closed

Over 18 inches of rain in two days

Cumberland River went from 37 to 49 ft which is about 9 feet above flood level

23 metro schools damaged

New cars from a new car lot floating down the street and piling up on top of each other.

A school portable trailer floating down the interstate and disentegrating when it hit an 18 wheeler.

Bridges washed out.

You always see these incredible images on TV of other places but it’s really surreal when it’s happening to your area.  My thoughts and prayers are with the people who have been hit hard.

My babies….in Seaside FL last November….aren’t they cute?

1 PicADay Project: Day 127

Took my daughter to Steak ‘n Shake last Saturday.  Here’s a picture of my Coke glass that I took with my iPhone and edited in Camerabag using the ‘magazine’ setting….I drank water but I sure wanted “The Real Thing” in it.  I love the photos on the wall behind the glass.  Since I was so close to the glass the iPhone focused on the wall instead.  Oh well…still like it.   🙂

This is the fountain in front of our newly built symphony hall in Nashville. It’s called “The Schermerhorn”. Been there twice; one of those times was to see Michael Franks. The acoustics are wonderful. This fountain is pretty cool too.
