1 PicADay Project: Day 231

Took this photo with my iPhone as I was walking into Belk one night.  It was dusk, hence the blue coloring.

1 PicADay Project: Day 225

Took this, among others, at Ellington Agricultural Center today.  Used Picnik online to edit it.

I was out on the property which is the Christ Church Memorial Gardens today helping my son film a short movie for the ‘Teen Emmies’.
This tree is standing in the middle of the property and I took this photo using my iPhone and the Hipstamatic app…. Have i mentioned that I love this app?

1 PicADay Project: Day 132

Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You’ve been promised, we’ve been waiting
Welcome Holy Child
Welcome Holy Child
Hope that you don’t mind our manger
How I wish we would have known
But long-awaited Holy Stranger
Make Yourself at home
Please make Yourself at home

Bring Your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
Word now breaking Heaven’s silence
Welcome to our world
Welcome to our world
Fragile fingers sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorn
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born

So wrap our injured flesh around You
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy
Perfect Son of God
Perfect Son of God
Welcome to our world

1 PicADay Project: Day 118

Hope your Holiday Season is going great so far. Here is a photo of a Christmas tree and it’s reflection in a mirror.  I took this with my iPhone in a store in Seaside Florida at Thanksgiving.  So natural and beautiful.

1 PicADay Project: Day 113

My computer is still on the blink so here’s a photo that I found on my husband’s computer that I took last fall of a tree that is located in the office park where I work… I know it’s not fall but I do love this tree. 🙂

1 PicADay Project: Day 97

Here’s the third photo I’ve posted of an insect.  (or insect shell in this case) We had a few cicadas here in Tennessee this year and I found this shell on a tree near my childrens’ school.  I usually like ‘pretty pictures’ but I thought this one was interesting and clear.

15 cicada broods have been identified by Scientist and are described using Roman numerals. Brood XIX, 13-year cicada distribution last emerged in Tennessee in May 1998.  Scientists project them to re-emerge in 2011.   This Brood was very large.  I remember not wanting to even go outside because it looked like an Egyptian Plague.  They were swarming and making noise that was almost deafening.  I remember going to the post office one day with my husband and I refused to get out of the car.  The cicadas were all over the place.  One lady was doing the ‘cicada dance’ from her car to the post office door screaming the whole way… No thank you.  🙂
