1 PicADay Project: Day 363

Light Show

Now that I’m here near the end, I can’t seem to get any inspiration. I’ve stooped to light painting, or whatever you call it when you push the shutter button and shake the camera in front of lights. Not much skill to it, but sometimes you get some cool looking colors. Here’s one that I took of the dashboard lights in my car.

1 PicADay Project: Day 227

View from the Top of the Empire State Building

This was taken with a Canon S110 from the top of the Empire State Building during our recent trip to NYC.  I love NY!

1 PicADay Project: Day 216

Time’s Square is ablaze with light, action and people.  Here’s a photo that I took of a corner of one of the buildings with the jumbo trons.

1 PicADay Project: Day 133

One of life’s simple pleasures.  Especially when it’s cold outside. Mmmmmmm! Taken with my iPhone and edited in CameraBag.

1 PicADay Project: Day 76

We went to the “Lights, Motors, Action” stunt show at Disney Hollywood Studios.  This is one show that you don’t want to miss when you visit this park.  The set was made to look like a village in France.  I loved the buildings and used my zoom to take some pics.  Here’s one that I played with in Corel and to make it resemble a painting.  Lights motors action house painting

1 PicADay Project: Day 61

New York City is my all time favorite city that I’ve visited!  I’ve only been three times and I LOVE IT!  Here is a picture from our last visit that I took from the top of the Empire State Building.  You can see Macy’s Department Store’s sign just to the right of the center of the photo.  I hope to take my children there next year for a visit.  My daughter, Madi wants to live in New York and be on Broadway when she grows up. 🙂

1 PicADay Project: Day 9

1 PicADay Photo # 9 (Moneys-Wilson County Fair)wm

  • $85
  • 2 hours to drive 30 miles (traffic was really backed up 5 miles from the fair exit)
  • 30 minutes to park and walk in
  • funnel cake,  cheeseburger, some fries, corn dog and an Italian sausage sandwich (not just for me….for entire family :))
  • 3 rides
  • some mediocre photos
  • Priceless memories

Seriously I think that the Wilson County Fair is one of the best in the nation.  It is huge with one of the largest Midways I’ve ever seen.  I went with the intention of getting some great photos, however I didn’t take my tripod in or my larger camera.  Needless to say I wasn’t as pleased with the results as I could have been.

I’m posting this picture because it depicts what I think fairs and carnivals are all about.  And besides, I love monkeys!  We’ll call it “Just Monkeying Around”.

1 PicADay Project: Day 4

1PicADay Photo #4 (Hollywood in TN)wm

Let me start by saying, my husband is awesome!  It’s been a busy day

and I did not pick up my camera until 9:30 PM.  Since the sun had already gone down he agreed to drive me 17 miles one way just to get the phot

o that I had in mind.  With little to no experience about what the buttons do on my Canon EOS Rebel XT I knew I had to go somewhere interesting and where the nighttime photo would be fool proof.

He suggested a couple of places closer to home  that had neon, like Krispey Kreme’s ‘Hot Now’ sign:)  but I knew they would not compare to the Regal Hollywood 27 Cinemas in Nashville.  So at 10:30 PM I’m clicking away.

I love the whole movie experience and I especially love this movie theater because the lights are so fantastic.  I really like the way this picture turned out.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.  Randy named it “Hollywood in Tennessee”.
