1 PicADay Project: Day 336

Heritage

My husband and children are members of the American Lumbee Indian Tribe.   Even though the ‘dream catcher’ is not traditional in their culture, my husband has a fondness for all Native American People and is proud to have a Native American Heritage.  He has a dream catcher hanging on his rearview mirror that was hand crafted by his long time friend, Glenn Simmons.  Here is a photo that I took of it yesterday.  As you can tell by the dirt and dust on it, it has been hanging in his truck for years.

1 PicADay Project: Day 164

This little rock represents the ‘commitment’ that my husband and I made over 24 years ago.  It hasn’t always been easy but in the end we’ve decided to stick it out through thick or thin, better or worse, rich or poor, sickness or health till death us do part.  We both want to be little old gray haired people still holding hands, giggling and being each other’s soul mate.
