1 PicADay Project: Day 261

At a Snail’s Pace

I guess this little guy was trying to get away from all the water that is flooding my yard.  He’s not in focus as much as I would like, but I like the shadow that he’s casting in the early morning sun.

  1. Glad to see this little guy is on high ground! That shadow is fantastic, Jan. My heart always goes out to the creatures when Mother Nature (or man) does their worst. Watching animal fatalities from the oil spill has been heart-wrenching…

  2. Wow, great photo Jan. Hope you guys have managed to stay high and dry down there. I hear the flooding was really bad.

  3. Thanks you guys! We were pretty dry where we were, thank goodness, but there are so many that were not so fortunate. I just hate seeing the photos of Opryland Hotel, The Grand Ole Opry and Soundcheck warehouse where all the musicians in town kept there gear. There were many vintage guitars and instruments that simply cannot be replaced. It’s so sad. The $7 Million organ at our new Symphony hall is ruined as well.

It’s really hard to see the oil spill in the Gulf as well. I grew up near that water and beautiful sandy beaches. I just hate it.
