1 PicADay Project: Day 52

1 PicADay Photo #52 (pensacola sea gull)wmI took my children to Pensacola Beach awhile back and took some pictures.  Here’s one of a seagull.  I know the exposure is probably not just right because of all the bright sand, but I do like the bird.

As you can see, Pensacola has some of the whitest sand ever.  It is located on the barrier island called Santa Rosa.   Fort Pickens is located on Santa Rosa Island and was completed in 1834 and was used until WWII.   One of Fort Pickens most famous residents was Apache prisoner, Geronimo.

My husband used to live in  Gulf Breeze, Fl which is right across the bridge from Pensacola Beach.  I lived in Pensacola for about seven years.  If you ever want to get away to a beautiful beach, Northwest Florida is where  you should go.  You will never see more beautiful sand as well as beautiful water.
