My 50th Birthday Party
As promised I’m back to share some photos of my 50th birthday party. My friend Vicki Riley took the photos for me and gave them to me in a beautiful album. About 40 of my friends showed up to celebrate with me and Lee Ann Womack‘s band played jazz for about 2 hours just for me. I guess it pays to sleep with the bass player! (my husband Randy)
My friend Cassie helped me frost some canning jars and I used those to hold gerber daisies (my favorite flowers) and the smaller ones I used for candles. I sprinkled Hershey’s Kisses (my favorite candy) around the jars. I printed about 200 Moo postcards of the photos from this blog and a few more that’s I’ve taken since and gave them away as party favors. I also framed some photos to give away as door prizes. My friend Lisa ordered my cake with one of my favorite photos of my family on it and a rastersized photo of me, which was made using Rasterbator, was put up on the window behind the band. When you haven’t had a birthday party in about 24 years and you’re turning a 1/2 century old, why not?
I had a wonderful time and I think that this stage of my life is going to be the best one!
Happy Birthday to you. 50 is a fun age because you begin to appreciate the little things in life…
What a fabulous 50th! Thanks for sharing the pixjanloves.
Wow, looks like you had a great time. Obviously you have lots of family and friends who love you. That’s very touching. Happy 50th.
Happy Birthday! WOW! What a fabulous shindig! Everything looks beautiful and so do you! Glad it went off without a hitch and you have (at least) another 50 to look forward to!!
Sounds like it was the perfect evening
You look great… never would have guessed you turned 50!

I thought I commented on this post when it first when up, but maybe not. Either way, happy birthday. I don’t think 50 ever looked so good.
Hope you’re still around. Looking forward to your next post. (hint, hint)
Thanks! Yeah I’m here…I’m still trying to work on my new blog in my ‘spare’ time. HaHa…hopefully by January I’ll have something going and I’ll put a link here on this blog.
Hope you and the missus are doing very well!!!!
